Service Description

Now Accepting Applications! Join us for a free hybrid Birth Doula Training with Childbirth Education, designed for aspiring doulas, birth workers, and professionals looking to support families through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Training Format & Schedule: This course includes one virtual and three in-person training days. • August 30: Virtual Childbirth Education (via Zoom), 9 AM–5 PM • September 5–7: In-Person Birth Doula Training in Madison, WI (at the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness), 9 AM–5 PM daily This is an application-based training. After submitting the form, selected applicants will receive a follow-up call to complete a short questionnaire before final acceptance. Only 10 spots are available. ⸻ What You’ll Learn: Childbirth Education Start with a full-day session focused on the foundations of pregnancy and labor. You’ll explore not only the physical process of childbirth but also the social, racial, and psychological aspects of birth work today. Birth Doula Training This in-depth, interactive training builds the skills you need to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to birthing families. Training Highlights Include: • Trauma-informed and culturally centered care • Comfort measures, pain relief, and movement • Supporting partners and family members • Advocacy, ethics, and setting boundaries • Business tools for launching your doula practice • Comprehensive digital manual & hands-on learning Upon completion, you’ll also be eligible to join the Wisconsin Doulas of Color Collective (WIDOCC) for continued mentorship, community, and professional support.
