
Free Birth Doula Training
Service Description
Please note: This training is being offered completely free to a limited number of participants. In order to ensure the best fit, interested individuals must complete an application form. After submission, selected applicants will receive a follow-up call to complete a brief questionnaire before final acceptance into the training. This format allows us to build a thoughtful, committed learning space and offer a meaningful experience to those who are ready to do this work. Spots are limited, so we encourage early submissions. All sessions held virtually via Zoom Join us for our fully virtual Birth Doula Training, combining foundational Childbirth Education with comprehensive Doula Training. This course is ideal for aspiring doulas, birth workers, or professionals who want to confidently support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. This course kicks off with Childbirth Education sessions and continues into our intensive Doula Training, offering flexibility with the depth and quality of in-person instruction. ⸻ What You’ll Learn: Childbirth Education Course Our DTD Childbirth Course provides the essential foundation for becoming a doula. In addition to core birth knowledge, we examine the political, racial, social, and psychological aspects of childbirth. You’ll engage with learning activities, video content, and contextual discussions that center the realities of birth today. This course is required before completing the doula training workshop. Birth Doula Training Workshop Our intensive training is designed to build your practical skills, deepen your understanding of labor support, and prepare you for work in the field. Training Highlights Include: • Comprehensive 300+ page manual for continued reference • Interactive learning with slides, videos, role play, and simulations • Emotional and psychological processes of birth • Comfort measures, pain relief options, and movement strategies • Advocacy and trauma-informed, culturally conscious care • Supporting partners and families in meaningful ways • Doula ethics, standards of practice, and boundary setting • Starting and growing your doula practice (includes 50+ pages of business tools and resources) ⸻ Upon completing this training, you will also be eligible to join the Wisconsin Doulas of Color Collective (WIDOCC) for continued education, support, and mentorship.
